In East Africa, there has been a rise in the consumption of silver cyprinids (Rastrineobola argentea) due to growing awareness of the fish’s high nutritional value

Silver cyprinids are sourced from Lake Victoria and locally processed through sun drying to produce a dry product rich in high-quality proteins, healthy fats (including long-chain omega-3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA), and a unique source of essential nutrients such as iodine, zinc, copper, selenium, and calcium.

Dry silver cyprinid is prone to several changes during storage such as nutrient degradation however this nutrients can be preserved by processing the silver cyprinids into food supplements.

Food supplements are dietary supplements designed to enhance overall nutrition, health and improve physical and mental performance.

MbawaddePlus focuses on deriving rich-nutritious food supplements from silver cyprinids that improve overall health, bones, boost the immune system, and brain boosters among others targeting all health-conscious individuals.
